Teaching Philosophy

As a future teacher, my hopes and goals are to have my students walk away from class everyday with an open mind and a need to want to learn more.  To get them to that point, it's extremely important that students know our teachings are for them and not the educators.  It is my job as an educator to put forth hard work, enthusiasm, fun, experimentation, and play into my lessons because I believe that children learn best through hands on experience and learning through trial and error.

Learning about technology and media has opened my eyes to so many new ways of teaching.  Before, I only thought of lessons and ways of teaching that incorporated only the classroom or outside environment.  Now I know that incorporating technologies can have just as much effect on the students as learning through hands on in the classroom.  Through technology, my students will be able to experiment further and do most things on their own which teaches independence and individuality rather than depending on me or their peers.

All in all, I hope that my future students grasp the concepts of learning and realize when they become older how important learning is whether it is face-to-face or online.  We all take in information differently and with the many different ways of teaching, I hope that I can meet each students individual needs to my best ability so they can learn at their best ability.
